| #1 | Hey all, great forum. I have experience with 2 other Italian plaster manufacturers and MOP is different from both, especially the venetian plaster. In the italian plasters you use the same plaster for all three steps.
Now MOP requires two base, then the finish over that. I have noticed a considerable ammount of drag lines and chatter whenever I do the second base coat. I thought it was self leveling. The chatter is showing through the finish. What do you do to get rid of the chatter? |

When you are applying your basecoat let it set up for a few minutes then knock it down with your trowel ahd water. Most times I use 1 coat of base and 1 or 2 coats of finish for a perfectly smooth finish. |

| #3 | Apply your first base coat let dry. Apply the second base coat and trowel as you would a finish coat use a blister brush or the mist bottle this will produce a surface as smooth as any other plaster finish. When the MOP finish is used over this smooth base it will polish like glass. |

Thanks, I'm working on 3 samples today I'll give it a try both ways. I did like the two finisher coats, but that's a little to much work for me. 3 coat vp is just fine, unless I'm going for a bi-colore look, then I'll skim on another colored finisher. |
